How Compliments Cards work

 

Information about your Compliments Card

Your card's a prepaid electronic money card which contains the value that we have preloaded. 

 

Activation

When you receive your Card, you must sign it immediately. 

Your Card cannot be used until it has been activated. You can activate your Card by calling Customer Services and selecting the “Card Activation” option from the menu.

During the activation process you will be asked to quote your Card Number and your activation code which you will receive separately in the post, by e-mail or via your Company. You may also be requested to provide some details to confirm your identity. 
 

Using your card

Once activated, your card is ready for you to use in full or part payment at the retailers outlined on this website. If you try to use your card at any other store it will be declined. 

You will not receive any change from any of your purchases but any balance remaining may be applied to future purchases. 

Where applicable, this card can be used to make internet and phone purchases. Where internet purchases are required please choose the “MasterCard Debit” as the purchasing card option.

Refunds can't be transacted on an expired card; however the retailer may offer you their own vouchers or a credit note as an alternative.

Damaged, altered or cancelled cards won't be accepted by retailers.

Your card and any balance remaining will expire on the date printed on the card.

You won't be entitled to a refund of any unused funds after this date.

Keeping your card safe

You should treat the e-money on your card like cash in a wallet.  If you lose your card or it is stolen you may lose any e-money on it in just the same way as if you lost your wallet. 

You should never allow anyone else to use your card.

Please note that you will need to keep a record of your card number for balance enquiries or to report your card lost or stolen, as we may not store any personal information about you.

This card is not redeemable for cash, neither is it a credit, charge or cheque guarantee card.

If this card is used at a participating store in Eire, a foreign exchange charge will be applied to the purchase.

 

Cancellation, complaints and expiry of your card

If you need a replacement card for any reason, please contact Customer Services.  We can block or cancel your card if we suspect that your card may be used in a negligent or unlawful manner.  The card and any balance remaining will expire at the date printed on the card. You will not be entitled to a refund of any unused funds.  If you have a complaint about this product, please refer to the terms and conditions page for more details on the procedure.

Is my card active/how do I activate my card?

How can I find my card account/serial number?

You can find your account or serial number on the back of your card.

What can I use my card?

Your Card can only be used for Transactions at affiliated retail outlets; the affiliated retailers are listed on the Website www.complimentscard.co.uk. If you try to use your Card at any other store it will be declined. Please note your Card cannot be used for single Transactions in excess of £5,000.

Can I use Apple Pay with Compliments Card?

What is the balance on my card?

Which card type should I select when purchasing online?

For all online purchases use "MasterCard® Debit" as the card payment option.

I've not received my card/replacement card?

Please allow 7-10 days for the delivery of your card.

How do I get my 4 digit PIN?

During activation, you will be given a 4 digit PIN. You should never write down your PIN, reveal your PIN to anybody or enter your PIN in a way that enables it to be easily seen by others. We will not reveal your PIN to a third party.  If you forget your PIN, you can obtain a reminder of it on the My Account service via ‘Compliments Card’ 

How do I change my PIN?

You may be able to change your PIN at certain UK ATMs, please note you cannot use your card to obtain cash at an ATM.

When will my account be loaded?

Please contact the company that you receive your awards from.

My card expired?

If you are no longer participating in the Compliments Card programme your card and any balance remaining will expire on the date printed on the card. You will not be entitled to a refund of any unused funds after this date.

I have lost my card/my card has been stolen/my card is damaged?

Can I transfer money from one of my other Compliments Cards to this one?

Unfortunately we are unable to transfer funds between different cards you have been awarded.
